Jakarta Aquarium Indonesia Collaborates with DSI to Capture Chinese Tourists
Indonesia is currently one of the preferred destinations in South East Asia for Chinese tourists. There has been steady growth of inbound Chinese tourists to Indonesia in the past 3 years. Towards this end, Jakarta Aquarium Indonesia is collaborating with DSI and CTRIP to capture the Chinese Tourists market this year. DSI is a technology company that offers amusement park management technology in this region and has proven to be successful in the China market.
According to Dona Yohana, General Manager of JAI, Government forecast shows Indonesia will receive 3 million Chinese tourists this year. Chinese tourists are tech savvy and JAI have chosen to partner with DSI as they have the B2B Tourism Cloud Platform to market theirproducts in China through CTRIP, the largest Online Travel Agency in China.
Jakarta Aquarium Indonesia has automated their entire park operations since 2016, by implementingD.TIC Amusement Park Management Solution. The solution has allowed JAI to extend their sales channel by enabling multi-sales channel for their products. As an added value, DSI has enabled the sales of JAI’s tickets through the Chinese OTA sales channel.
“D.MARKET is our B2B Tourism Cloud Platform that has been established and operational in the China market. Last year, we have deployedthe platform in South East Asia to service the amusement industry here. The Indonesian market is our top focus.”, according to Howard Lai, COO of DSI. DSI’s primary partner in China is CTRIP, who is the market leader. The technology that DSI provided to JAI allows Chinese tourists to book ticket in CTRIP App and validate the ticket at the entrance of the attraction. The process is hassle-free.
Michelle Sun, Regional Manager of CTRIP has demonstrated the way Chinese tourists can buy JAI ticket using CTRIP app. Using the QR code ticket displayed in the app, it can be scanned directly at the gates to enter JAI attraction easily. Although this process is common in China, JAI is the first attraction in Indonesia that offers this. It is CTRIP’s top priority to ensure that their members are allowed access to the attraction, with the ticket they purchase via the CTRIP app.
According to Michelle, CTRIP is optimistic with the collaboration and believes that the partnership between CTRIP and Indonesian attractions as well as being supported by DSI through the provision of a robust technology platform is the critical success factor for CTRIP’s expansion to the international market.
